School Closure Friday 5th May 2017

As you have previously been informed, a large amount of builder’s waste was recently dumped at the rear of the school grounds. The council will be coming to remove the waste on Friday 5th May 2017. After taking advice, the school with be closed for the duration of the removal to minimise the possibility of any impact on pupil/staff health. The building waste removal will begin tomorrow morning and is likely to continue into Saturday, which will also mean that any school activities on Saturday will not be taking place.

So as to minimise the disturbance to your child’s education, please ensure that they use the VLE to access their learning resources from home. Their study programme for the day should focus on English, Maths and Science.

I would also like to reassure you that the waste has not posed a health risk while it has been in the vicinity of the school and our decision to close the school tomorrow is simply a precaution arising from the amount of dust which the removal may cause. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation and we look forward to welcoming your child back to school on Monday 8th May 2017.

Yours sincerely,

Joan Deslandes
