Safeguarding
Safeguarding: A culture of Vigilance
At Kingsford Community School our systems, processes and policies operate with the best interests of children at their core. As a school we are committed to ensuring that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place, and are constantly reviewed, to support pupils, families and staff.
In both our education and our safeguarding, our focus is always on taking the actions needed to enable all pupils to have the best possible outcomes. For this to be achieved not only does the quality of education matter but also disseminating and embedding a strong safeguarding culture throughout school. Every single member of the Kingsford community plays an important part in this culture of vigilance.
We have a Safeguarding Policy and appropriate procedures in place which are clearly communicated to all those on our school site. In addition we have a Peer on Peer Abuse Policy which supports staff in identifying risks and challenging inappropriate behaviour affecting pupil wellbeing. All staff are trained in relation to child protection and other issues surrounding safeguarding. Our pupils are encouraged to talk and are listened to, knowing there are adults in the school whom they can approach if they are worried or have concerns.
