HSBC Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition
On Tuesday 7th February 2017, six Kingsford pupils claimed 3rd prize in the group performance section of the final of the HSBC and British Council Mandarin Speaking competition 2016/2017 at the British Museum. The pupils performed a short Chinese play, ‘A Dream of Red Mansions’, adapted from one of the most famous classical Chinese novels. The competition is a national Mandarin speaking competition that is attended and contested between over 70 schools from all over the country. This year's Kingsford Community School team consisted of Anamaria Stefania Andrei (8K8), Amari Webb-Martin (8K8), Umad Pervaiz (9K1) , Seher Nadeem (9K1), Nathan Seyoum (9K1) and Sonia Prakash (9K1), along with their Mandarin teachers and Hanban teacher. The school wishes to congratulate all those involved for all of their hard work and excellent achievement.
