Student Academic Counselling Day (SAC Day) - Thursday 3rd July 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Kingsford Community School will hold virtual Student Academic Counselling (SAC) Day for pupils in Years 7 to 10 on Thursday 3rd July 2025, from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

In line with the preferences of most parents, SAC Day will take place virtually again this year via EdulinkOne (not in-person at the school). The school has arranged for you to have a ten-minute conversation with your child’s Tutor via video call to discuss your child’s progress this academic year. You will also electronically receive your child’s report in advance of your video call. The report will include information on your child’s attendance, attitude to learning and academic progress.

During the video call, your targets for the next academic year will be set, to support your child with independent revision over the summer and to maximise their progress and achievement when they return to Kingsford in the autumn term.

To successfully facilitate your child’s continued academic progress, we are relying on your support through your attendance on the video call.

There will be no lessons at the school site for pupils in Years 7-10 on Thursday 3rd July 2025. Lessons will be set remotely via the school VLE so that tutors can speak with parents. Where possible, your child should be involved in the conversation between you and your child’s tutor. After the appointment, the school would be grateful if you discuss these proposed targets with your child.

Booking your Appointment

You can book an appointment with your child’s tutor using our parent portal, EduLinkOne. You can then return to the app at the booked time to meet with the tutor via video through the app.

1. Log into your EduLink One account;

2. Click on the ‘Parents’ Evening’ icon;

3. Click on ‘Student Academic Counselling Day (SAC) Day’; a list of available appointments for your child’s Tutor should appear.

4. Click on the box next to your preferred time and confirm by clicking ‘Book’.

If you have more than one child at Kingsford, you will have to book appointments with each of their Tutors; you can switch between your children on EduLink by selecting their names in the top right-hand corner.

If you have any problems booking your appointment via EduLink, please contact the communications team at communications@kingsford.newham.sch.uk.

Thank you for your attention and co-operation in this matter.

We look forward to speaking with you.

Yours sincerely,

Joan Deslandes OBE
