Sports Day 2019
Dear Parent or Carer,
Re: Kingsford Community School Sports Day – Wednesday 26th June 2019
This year’s annual sports day will be held at Newham Leisure Centre and your child is expected to arrive as per a normal school day at 8.25 a.m.
Your child must make their own way to Newham Leisure Centre where they will be registered by their tutor at 8.25 a.m. and they will be dismissed from Newham Leisure Centre by their tutor at 2.00 p.m. Your child will be supervised by their House Tutor throughout the day and is expected to display responsible and co-operative conduct at all time in a mature and responsible manner. Any child failing to meet the school’s expectations will be followed up in accordance with the school behaviour policy.
Your child must be well organised for the day and will need to prepare the following:
Kingsford Community School PE kit should be worn: blue polo shirt, blue shorts or tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Your child may alternatively wear a plain t-shirt or polo shirt in line with their house colour to further enhance their support for their house. The house coloured t-shirt or polo shirt must not have any logos or writing, no football shirts are permitted. Any student who fails to meet the high standards expected will be required to go home to change before returning to the venue.
It is the responsibility of each student to be prepared for all weather conditions by bringing sun cream, a hat, an umbrella and plenty of water. The forecast is for hot weather so it is vital that your child brings sufficient water to keep them hydrated throughout the day. All students should apply sun cream prior to arriving and throughout the day to maintain their wellbeing.
Food and Drink
Students who do not receive free school meals must bring their own packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water. Students who are entitled to a free school meal will be given a cold packed lunch during the day but should also bring plenty of fluid. No student will be able to purchase food or drink during the day as they are not allowed to leave Newham Leisure Centre until they are dismissed at 2.00 p.m.
As this is considered a school day your child MUST be in attendance. If your child fails to turn up they will be marked absent and this will be followed up in line with the school’s attendance policy.
I trust that the school can rely on your support in this matter and thank you in advance for this.
